Karsten is a 15 year IT industry veteran, a long time Fedora Project
contributor, and general open source iconoclast.  In his role as a
community organizer and architect, Karsten has myriad experiences
implementing the open source way.  As a member of the community
leadership team at Red Hat, Karsten has seen, done, and recovered from
many open community mistakes.  His role includes documenting,
teaching, and mentoring on the open source way in domains beyond
software, such as education, government, and general business.  His
goal is to improve society through his passions and talents.

He lives in Santa Cruz, CA, with his wife, two daughters, cat, and
