   Fedora is more than a Linux-based OS that showcases the latest in
   free and open source software. Fedora is always free for anyone to
   use, modify, and distribute, and is built by people who work
   together as an open community: the Fedora Project.

== Short Abstract (1000 char) ==

   Many people are familiar with Fedora as a nice-looking, easy to use
   Linux distribution that focuses on having the latest 100% free and
   open source software.

   The community behind this was started originally by and still
   features many of the developers who work on the upstream projects,
   from the Linux kernel to the GNOME desktop environment.  Along the
   way, the Fedora Project has grown to a large community of practice
   that produces design, translations, documentation, marketing, and
   multiple tools.

   The Fedora Project has done this with an unerring focus on enabling
   contributors to be successful with the best tools and freest
   processes.  Barriers to entry are kept appropriately low, which
   helps individual and organizational contributors to gain a foothold
   and be successful.

   This presentation focuses on the four foundations of Fedora, and
   explains how those make Fedora a successful project that is really
   good at making a Linux distribution.  It then encourages the
   audience to get involved, with Fedora or another open source
   project.

   “Freedom, Friends, Features, First”

   The four foundations are the core values of the Fedora community.

   Freedom represents dedication to free software and content.

   Friends represents the strength of our community.

   Features represents our commitment to excellence.

   First represents our commitment to innovation.

   I'm not sure if there is another general-interest Fedora
   presentation proposed, and I ran out of time to find out for
   certain.  If there is *not* another general Fedora presentation,
   then I'd like to do this one.  If there *is* another general Fedora
   presentation, then by all means, let's have that other person do it
   instead.
